Rising star and daughter of funk legend Sly Stone, Novena Carmel joins forces with Parisian-born and Los Angeles-based producer Art Bleek and his long-term collaborator vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Sputnik to introduce their new project Zoowax.

 

Zoowax’s sound blends old-time Dixieland jazz guitars, soulful vocals and an infectious four-on-the-floor house beat.

 

Charlie Sputnik, (AKA Charles Chemery) is a Los Angeles-based DJ, vocalist, guitarist and record producer. Though born in Normandy, France, Charlie is a true child of the world, having grown up in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Canada, Hong-Kong, Japan and France.
Charlie’s list of clients includes The American Film Institute, Audi, American Airlines, Warner Bros., E! Entertainment, Disney, Taschen, The French Consulate in Los Angeles, University of Southern California, LAX among countless others.

 

Arthur Pochon (aka Art Bleek) started studying piano at age 6. He enrolled in the conservatory at age 9 to study saxophone and music theory. He graduated from the prestigious institution 12 years later. During his years of study, Arthur played in various musical ensembles, ranging from chamber groups to full orchestras. He listened primarily to classical, jazz, world as well as electronic music and started composing original material on a 4-track tape recorder.
